Fifty years ago, members of the Class of 1973 walked across the Commencement stage as one of the first undergraduate classes to go through their four years at the newly federated 窪蹋勛圖厙.

This year at Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, they earned another spot in 窪蹋勛圖厙 history: members of the first class of Graduates of Distinction, a new society for undergraduate alumnis 50th reunions.

To celebrate the occasion, members of the class donated a commemorative brick at the Frank N. and Jocelyne K. Linsalata Alumni Center and made commitments to the Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship.

The university worked really hard to give us a broad-based education, said Mary Mickey Hammad (NUR 73), emerita board member of the Alumni Association and member of the Graduates of Distinction External Committee. And a number of us had that opportunity because of scholarships or some form of aid.

Future students deserve that as well, she continued, and thats why we have to give.
