3L Kaitlyn Booher elected student leader of concurrent degree program in Spain

Kaitlyn Booher in Spain

Every year, a half-dozen third year law students take advantage of 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 unique concurrent degree program to obtain a foreign LLM at one of our prestigious foreign partner universities in London, Madrid and Paris. The year abroad double counts as the third year at 黑料吃瓜网, earning the student both degrees in just three years.

When 黑料吃瓜网 law student Kaitlyn Booher arrived at Comillas University in Madrid to start her concurrent LLM degree program last month, her concerns were obtaining an apartment, finding her classes, and getting to know her new classmates. Little did she know that they would soon elect her Class Delegate鈥攁 prestigious leadership position in Spain that is typical in Universities to facilitate connection between the administration and specific programs.

As Class Delegate, Booher works with the Director of the Masters in European Union and International Business Law to address student concerns, plan student events, track attendance and communicate class deadlines and requirements to her classmates. Most exciting of all, Booher, who is fluent in Spanish, gets to give a speech at her graduation in May.

鈥淔or me, I was really honored because I was selected by the students in the whole LLM program and the position has really helped me build connections with all of the students from different law schools from around the globe,鈥 Booher said. 鈥淚鈥檓 really glad to represent Case in this way.鈥

Meanwhile, Booher is also serving as an Executive Notes Editor of 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 law school鈥檚 Journal of International Law鈥攁 leadership position that would have required that she be in residence at 黑料吃瓜网 in years prior to the advent of Zoom during the COVID pandemic. But in 2023, the journal amended its bylaws to enable editors to work or study abroad while leading the journal. Booher 鈥淶ooms in鈥 on Tuesdays to help Michael Scharf teach the journal seminar.
